Mlle Agathe was created in 2013 after a chance encounter between Fabrice Pierron and Patrice Lambert opened the doors for a new and exciting entrepreneurial opportunity. This introduction occurred at an organic exhibition in which Fabrice was selling products containing snail filtrate for the first time. Patrice, who had been a snail breeder since 1989, and Fabrice shared their thoughts and discussed their mutual disappointment in the quality of the snail filtrate formula Fabrice was importing from Spain at the time because it contained a large amount of synthetic chemicals and petrochemicals and little to scant amounts of snail filtrate. Patrice also observed that, with this product, the consumer was not offered any guarantee regarding the harvesting methods used or the snail filtrate concentration. These details were not cohesive with the ethics standards Fabrice imagined when he decided to bring a line of organic snail filtrate products to the French market.

As they continued to learn about one another’s businesses, Fabrice discovered that Patrice had already conducted all the necessary snail filtrate certification processes for cosmetic products in Europe and that, after 3 years of hard work attempting to contact potentially interested laboratories, his expertise had remained unutilized.

Mlle Agathe is the only brand able to certify that an organic snail breeder harvests the filtrate that goes into each product manually.

They then decided to pool their skills and enter an exclusivity contract together to create and develop the Mlle Agathe brand. This synergy now guaranteed the benefits of the highest quality active ingredients, thanks to the hand harvesting process as this technique the compliance and welfare of the animal. As a result, Mlle Agathe became the only brand able to certify that an organic snail breeder harvests the filtrate that goes into each product manually. By hand harvesting, Mlle Agathe makes sure its snails don’t suffer and can therefore provide us with all the benefits of their filtrate in its richest form.

Researchers have revealed that when manual harvesting is performed, the mass of snail filtrate obtained is 2 to 3 times greater than when obtained via mechanical harvesting.

It is within this substantial amount of snail filtrate that the optimal ingredients, essential for the skincare, can be found (allantoin, collagen, elastin, glycolic acid, vitamins, natural antibiotics etc.).

After creation and production, all that remained for Patrice and Fabrice was to set up the manufacturing process. Our formulas have been specifically developed to enable us to incorporate the maximum possible amount of snail filtrate into each produce (as certified by ECOCERT, an independent certification body). Our laboratory, created in 1995 in the Pays de la Loire region in France, was developed on a production site of high environmental quality and in accordance with product eco-design principles. In all, every effort has been made to ensure that Mlle Agathe provides the highest quality product possible in a manner that involves exceptional sourcing so that each ingredient is bio-sourced individually and is, therefore, derived organically. Therefore, all Mlle Agathe cosmetic products contain a synergy of plants, vegetable oils and vegetable wax, which are manufactured with respect for human consumers, nature and, of course, animals.
