In the heart of wine estates, which boast exceptional terroirs between the Drôme and the Ardèche, we breed our “Gros Gris” snails.
Our renowned snail breeder, Patrice Lambert, began his research in snail farming in 1989.
In 2007, the breeder became France’s leading certified “Gros Gris” snail producer in organic agriculture.
In 2010, Patrice began investigating the possibility of harvesting snail filtrate for the cosmetics industry.
In 2013, he was made “Knight of the French Order of Agriculture”.
Our Helix Aspersa Maxima (Gros Gris) are bred with the greatest respect for the well-being of the animal by adhering to organic agriculture specifications. They live outdoors on bed of radishes, clover, and bay leaves.
Snail filtrate harvesting is conducted in our laboratory in the breeding area, in accordance with a developed, patented principle which eliminates any stress for the snail. This guarantees the best quality active ingredients.
During harvesting periods, our snail filtrate undergoes a purification and concentration process.
The concentrated extract of snail filtrate is obtained during a controlled, certified process which ensures the well-being of the animal and serves as an example of organic agriculture. (The harvesting process is inspected by Ecocert twice a year).
Situated in the Pays de la Loire region, our laboratory is well-situated within the valley. Benefiting from the mild climate of this territory, it has become France’s leading region for the production of medicinal plants. With more than 100 plants having therapeutic properties (the majority of which have been grown here for more than a century), our cosmetics laboratory harvests a range of flower extracts and various plants with local producers to ensure the traceability of these raw materials.
Our laboratory is ISO 22716 certified, meaning that it works in compliance with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Our manufacturing site is inspected by ECOCERT and subsequently declared to the ANSM (French National Agency for Medicine and Health Product Safety).
As members of One Voice and PETA, we can assure you that our products are not tested on animals.
Our Quality Control Department conducts microbiological and stability testing of raw materials in bulk as well as with finished products in real time. In addition, an independent laboratory assesses our entire range by means of challenge-tests, toxicology testing.
As we continue to evolve constantly, our researchers are at the forefront of the latest innovations in order to offer you the highest quality products. They work closely with universities, technical centers, and local extractors to reach findings using work that’s propelled by a desire for innovation and results.
As a manufacturer of cosmetic excellence, generating formulas that are made in France, our laboratory has been committed to the production and certification of organic cosmetics for many years to guarantee we bring you exceptional products.
